My first position in Molecular Biology was 24 years ago in which I had the pleasure to serve Dr. Virginia Zakian's Lab. Fortunately for me when the Jonikas Lab came on the scene, I was happy to secure a position as a Lab Assistant. I am looking forward to learning and growing with such a fascinating lab.

Currently, I am working on an degree in Culinary Arts, as well as a BA in Early Childhood Education with a minor in Psychology. Sometime in the future I would like to teach children ages K-5. For now however I would like to take the opportunity to learn more in my new position.

Before coming to Molecular Biology I've served time in the United States Navy. After which I started a family and raised four children. Although rewarding at times, the hardest job/task I've ever had was being a parent, and It's the one job, I have not managed to completely figure out.

In my free time I love to spend time with family and friends. Additionally, I love to cook and bake. I spend much of my time when at home, in the kitchen. I am an active member in my church where I have a chance to remain active in community service projects.
