I am currently an undergraduate student majoring in Molecular Biology. Choosing my major was a challenge because I love all areas of science, but joining the Jonikas Lab confirmed I made the right choice. Being part of this group inspires me as we strive to make meaningful contributions and provide a lasting impact on the real world. For my education, I try to learn about as much as I can, and I'm currently taking courses in math and computer science to help complement my skills in biology.

My research focuses on exploring the bicarbonate transporter BST1 and carbonic anhydrase CAH3 to advance our understanding of strategies for engineering CO2 concentrating mechanisms into land plants, through the elucidation of a carbon delivery mechanism. Outside the lab, I enjoy running and reading, particularly fantasy series like A Song of Ice and Fire by George R. R. Martin.
