Madison McNeal-Martinis
I am an undergraduate student studying Molecular Biology here at Princeton. I joined the Jonikas lab because I am interested in employing biology to solve real-world problems. In the lab, I am working on engineering the pyrenoid into the pyrenoid-less alga Auxenochlorella protothecoides to identify the genes required to reconstitute its carbon-concentrating mechanism.
Outside of the lab, I enjoy reading science fiction, spending time in nature, and am on the board of Princeton's Black Student Union.
